·        Desirable Qualifications: Experience in collection and maintenance of marine organisms in the laboratory. Experience in conducting bioassay studies on the effect of heavy metals and organics on marine organisms. 
·        Nature of Work:  Organize field sample collection & maintenance in  the laboratory, Conduct of bioassay experiments on marine food chain organisms, seawater quality analysis including heavy metals & organics. Experience in collection and maintenance of marine organisms in the laboratory. Carrying out data analysis and report preparation.
Position 2: Marine Biology –Plankton 1 No. 
·        Essential Qualifications: First Class Masters Degree in Marine Biology & Oceanography from a recognized University/Institute.  At least 2 years experience in research works relating to culture methods of phytoplankton/zooplankton as evidenced by publications/reports.
·        Nature of Work:  Organize field sample collection & maintenance of phytoplankton & zooplankton cultures in the laboratory. Conduct of growth inhibition tests and prepare the cultures for determination of dissolved metals and organic chemicals. Carrying out data analysis and report preparation.
Position 3: Marine Chemistry 1 No. 
·        Essential Qualifications: First Class Masters Degree in Marine/Hydro/Analytical
·        chemistry /Chemical Oceanography or equivalent from a recognized University/Institute. At least 2 years experience in the analysis of heavy metals, pesticides and organic compounds in seawater, sediment & organisms as evidenced by publications/reports.
·        Nature of Work:  Maintain the trace metal laboratory and the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer and Gas chromatography for routine sample analysis. Good knowledge and experience in handling the ICP/MS GC, AAS, Spectroflourimeter and Spectrophotometer for analysis of sea water and sediment samples. Extraction procedures of all experimental samples for analysis of metals and pesticides or plankton culture. Carrying out data analysis and report preparation.
Job Type 7: Field Assistant  2 Nos.

·        Essential Qualifications: 10th passed or its equivalent.
·        Desirable Qualifications: Experience in biological sample collection, handling and maintenance of marine organisms.  Should have at least one year working experience in a research laboratory.
·        Nature of Work:  Should work for cleaning and washing of glasswares in the Ecotoxicology Laboratory. Should take care of supply of seawater and regular cleaning of storage tanks and pumping of seawater; Collection of marine organisms and maintain them in the laboratory.  Assist the Project Scientists for the day to day activities in the laboratory.

Job Type 8: Technical Assistant:  2 Nos.     Ref.TA/ME

·        Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in science with subjects like Chemistry and Biology or its equivalent or diploma in electrical/electronic engineering from a recognized University/Institute.
·        Desirable Qualifications: Should have at least one year experience in a culture/biological laboratory attached to Fishery Institute/Biological Science Department in the University or handling of analytical instruments.
·        Nature of Work:  Should work for handling of equipment like UV-Vis Spectrophotometer, mechanical shaker, and Refrigerated centrifuge, dispensing pumps etc., Assist the project Scientist in preparation of samples for phytoplankton culture, handling and maintenance of the pure cultures. Assist the Project Scientists for the day to day sample preparation and analysis works.

·        Essential Qualifications: First Class M.sc (Chemical Oceanography/ Applied chemistry with specialization in Hydrochemistry/ Environmental science/ Micro-biology) or equivalent. Minimum  2 years of field / modeling experience in the subject of chemical oceanography, as evidenced by publications/ report.
·        Nature of Work:  Analysis and interpretation of biogeochemistry, water quality modeling, planning and execution of special experiments on various ecosystem processes.
Position 2: Marine Biology - 1 No
·        Essential Qualifications: First Class M.Sc (Marine sciences/ Oceanography/ Marine biology).  Minimum 2 years field/ modeling experience in the subject of marine biology, as evidenced by publications/ reports.
·        Nature of Work:  Analysis and interpretation of marine biology related experiments. Planning and execution of special experiments on various ecosystem processes.
Position 3: Physical Oceanography - 1 No.
·        Essential Qualifications: First Class M.sc (Physics/ physical oceanography/ Marine sciences/Meteorology) (Or) M.Tech (atmospheric sciences/ Coastal/ ocean engineering/ Ocean management). For M.Sc candidates, minimum 2 years field/ modeling experience in the subject of physical or coastal oceanography, as evidenced by publications/ reports and for M.Tech candidates, minimum 1 year field/ modeling experience in the subject of physical or coastal oceanography, as evidenced by publications/ reports.
·        Nature of Work:  Deployment of instruments such as wave & tide recorders, AWS, Current meters, echosounders, sediment traps, bore  hole samples etc. in the Field Sediment sampling and data analysis, paleoclimatic  study, Modeling on coastal oceanographic processes, sediment dynamics etc.
